Wastwater Fells in Monochrome

Stripped of colour, the profound drama of the Lake District's deepest water is laid bare. This striking interpretation of Wastwater relies entirely on rhythmic contrast to capture the unyielding character of the surrounding fells.

Deep black shapes cut sharply against a brilliant white ground, forming a landscape of immense graphic intensity. Heavy, sweeping lines delineate the steep slopes plunging directly into the lake, while rhythmic horizontal ripples stretch across the dark foreground water. Above, textured skies surround stark, floating clouds, giving the composition a bold, dynamic energy.

This monochromatic piece brings a definitive modern edge to any living space or study. Whether you choose a classic framed print in black or a large 90cm stretched canvas, it makes a commanding statement. Available in 40cm, 70cm and 90cm square formats, it is an exceptional gift for lovers of dramatic Cumbrian landscapes.
