Bassenthwaite Lake and Slate Fells

The view from the high fells often reduces the landscape to striking bands of colour and form. Here, a sweeping vista over Bassenthwaite Lake plays with stark, mesmerising contrasts, pitting the sheer visual weight of a dark mountain against the pale expanse of water below.

Steep, bracken-covered slopes plunge towards a warm, earthy valley floor. The lake itself cuts through the muted landscape as a pure white ribbon, reflecting a hazy, atmospheric sky. A monumental slate-blue fell anchors the right of the scene, standing distinct against softer, misty peaks fading into the distance, while tiny field boundaries reveal the sheer scale of the drop.

With its highly stylised palette and bold shapes, this artwork makes a captivating focal point for a modern living room, study, or contemporary holiday let. Available as a museum-standard canvas or giclée print in 40cm, 70cm, or 90cm square sizes. Add a bespoke black, white, or natural frame to receive a beautifully finished piece ready to hang.
