Blue Fells Above Patterdale Valley

Gazing down from the heights of Place Fell, the landscape unfolds in a striking sequence of colour and form. This bold interpretation of the valley head captures the sheer scale of the terrain, balancing the vast weight of the mountains with the delicate geometry of human habitation.

The earthy, sun-warmed ochres of the valley floor, neatly divided by boundary lines and dotted with the crisp white buildings of Patterdale, ground the scene. Above, the fells rise in dramatic, receding layers of deep slate blue and pale, misty grey, dissolving into the hazy sky. A stark, brilliant white marks the water's edge, introducing a compelling, contemporary contrast to the muted, earthy tones of the land.

Bringing a profound sense of depth to any interior, this artwork makes an exceptional focal point for modern living rooms or airy holiday cottages.
