Colourful Rydal Water Boulders

A startling jolt of contemporary energy transforms one of the Lake District’s most tranquil spots. This bold interpretation of Rydal Water leaves traditional earthy hues behind, opting instead for a wildly uplifting palette of fiery oranges, shocking pinks, and brilliant cobalt blues.

Heavy, expressive strokes build the scene, starting with the foreground shallows where luminous, lime-green moss clings to partially submerged boulders. Deep blue shadows carve out the rocks' forms before giving way to the glassy surface of the lake. Perfect, mirror-like reflections capture the dark silhouette of the wooded island and the neon-bright shoreline, all set against a backdrop of soft lilac and violet fells stretching into the distance.

An incredible statement piece for a modern living room, a brightly lit hallway, or a colourful holiday let, this artwork brings an undeniable sense of joy and vitality to any space. Available in 40cm, 70cm, and 90cm square sizes as a museum-standard giclée print, stretched canvas, or a framed piece in black, white, or natural wood, arriving ready to hang and admire.
