Sunlit Thirlmere from Western Fells

This striking piece captures the sheer scale of the valley holding Thirlmere, seen from the high vantage point of the Western Fells. The landscape is rendered with an intense, painterly energy that brings the wild beauty of Cumbria indoors.

Luminous cerulean and deep cobalt blues dominate the shadowed waters of the reservoir and the sweeping, distant peaks. These cool tones contrast sharply with the rocky foreground, where bold strokes of rust, pale gold, and vivid blue catch the mountain light. A soft, peach-hued haze settles in the valley below, adding incredible depth to the composition.
