The Felix Atwood collection transforms traditional Lake District vistas into striking studies of shape and colour. Sweeping fells, still lakes, and grazing sheep are reduced to their most essential geometric forms, constructed from flat, interlocking blocks of muted pigment. The palette is deeply grounded in nature, relying on a sophisticated interplay of deep olive, dark forest green, warm taupe, and soft cream. Observable in every piece is a distinct, woven canvas texture that adds tactile warmth to the otherwise smooth, minimalist planes of colour. Whether capturing a solitary white cottage nestled in a valley, the dark reflection of clustered trees on glass-like water, or the gentle curves of distant mountains under a pale sky, these landscapes possess a profound stillness. The complete absence of intricate detailing draws the eye instead to the balance of bold shapes and the harmonious arrangement of earthy tones. These structured, contemporary artworks bring a calming, grounded presence to interior spaces, offering a highly stylized, sophisticated homage to the quiet grandeur of the Lakes.
