Buttermere in Cobalt Blue

A bold, graphic vision of a beloved valley. This striking composition uses high-contrast form and rhythm to draw the eye deep into the landscape, celebrating the dramatic topography of the high fells.

Deep cobalt blue and warm, unbleached white create a stark, two-tone palette that brings intense energy to the scene. The waters of Buttermere are distilled into mesmerising, undulating ribbons that smooth out towards the distant shoreline. Beyond the tree-lined bank, steep mountains rise against beautifully hatched clouds, highlighting every crag and ridge with brilliant clarity.

A commanding statement piece for a contemporary living room, hallway, or Lake District holiday let. Available as a museum-standard print or gallery-wrapped canvas, this square design comes in 40cm, 70cm, and 90cm sizes. Choose a black, white, or natural wood frame to complement this rhythmic artwork, arriving ready to hang.
