Cobalt Ripples on Dawn Lake

A single ripple breaks the glassy surface of the water, radiating outward to greet the morning. This striking piece reimagines the classic Lake District dawn through a bold, rhythmic lens, trading soft morning mists for crisp, graphic energy.

Rendered in a stark two-tone palette of deep cobalt blue and warm unbleached white, the composition draws the eye from the hypnotic, concentric arcs of the foreground deep into the valley. Layered fells rise sharply against a bright sky, their rugged contours carved out by dynamic, block-print style hatching that catches the first light of day.

An arresting centrepiece for a modern living room or stylish holiday let, this artwork brings a contemporary edge to traditional landscape views. Available as a museum-standard print, canvas, or framed piece in versatile square sizes of 40cm, 70cm, or 90cm, it makes a brilliant gift for lovers of the Cumbrian fells.
