Herdwick Sheep Beneath Indigo Skies

The sweeping open spaces of the Lake District fells find a striking, modern expression in this atmospheric piece. It distils the landscape to its absolute essence: dramatic skies, open pasture, and a hardy local flock.

A deep indigo sky dominates the upper half, contrasting sharply with the raw white horizon line. Below, the fellside is rendered in broad, bleeding sweeps of sage green and warm, earthy ochre. In the foreground, a gathering of Herdwick sheep is captured with loose, minimalist brushstrokes, their familiar forms grounding the abstract, expansive backdrop of the northern hills.

This contemporary Lakeland scene brings a sophisticated wash of colour to living rooms, studies, or modern holiday lets.
