The 214 fells of Alfred Wainwright’s seven Pictorial Guides are the definitive tick-list for Lake District walkers. Completing the round is a major achievement, and seeing the full collection gathered on one wall offers a wonderful visual celebration of every summit conquered.

This hex map edition places each fell in its true geographical position on a neat honeycomb grid. Every summit is a clean hexagon, coloured by its corresponding Pictorial Guide and shaded by its height. Carrying the fell's name and elevation in feet only, it reads from across the room as a bold regional map and up close as a precise working list.

A brilliant addition to any hallway or snug, this square chart arrives framed and ready to hang. The earthy tones of the guide-based palette suit a natural wood or white frame perfectly, creating a captivating piece that passing walkers cannot help but stop and study.

Sizes

Every poster is square, and the size given is the printed sheet itself — the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount: the print runs to the frame, so all 214 fells are on show.

The sizes available for this design are the ones in the picker above. Larger is not simply bigger, it is more readable: at the largest size each fell tile is around 29 mm across and its name reads comfortably from arm's length, while the smaller sizes read as a whole from across a room and reward a closer look.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural oak.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.

The other editions

The same 214 fells, a different colourway.

Every fell, named and measured

Each tile is drawn from the fell's own skyline, so no two are alike, and each carries the name Wainwright himself used along with its height in both feet and metres — his original guidebook altitude beside the modern survey. The fells run in height order, highest first, which is why the colour sorts itself down the sheet.
