Thirlmere Reservoir Under Violet Skies

Fiery foreground tones clash beautifully against a brooding, atmospheric backdrop in this striking impression of the Lakeland fells. The landscape is transformed into a theatre of bold colour and sweeping textural energy.

Energetic marks in burnt orange and russet anchor the view, drawing the eye towards the pale, luminous surface of Thirlmere. The reservoir stretches north towards a distant dam, reflecting soft, ethereal light while framed by steep slopes rendered in deep shades of violet and indigo. Scratched textures and soft blending across the sky and fells create a rich, tactile depth.

A bold statement piece for a contemporary living room or study, this artwork brings the dramatic warmth of the Lakes indoors.
