Autumn Light on Ullswater

The weather breaking over the landscape often provides the most breathtaking drama. Here, a brilliant gap of light opens between the fells at the far end of Ullswater, piercing the heavy atmosphere to illuminate the unbroken water below.

Brooding indigo and deep violet anchor the sweeping foreground, giving way to an intense, textured layer of russet and burnt orange across the shoreline. Distinct vertical strokes suggest a passing shower over the fells, while the sheer, dark mass of the mountain on the left contrasts sharply with the pale, lavender-tinted light resting on the distant lake surface.

This rich, atmospheric piece brings incredible depth and warmth to a living room, hallway, or study. Available in 40cm, 70cm, or 90cm square sizes, choose a classic framed print in black, white, or natural wood, or opt for a gallery-style framed canvas to let these dramatic colours command the space.
