This archetypal composition captures the essence of the Lake District. Rather than one valley, it gathers the defining elements of the national park: overlapping fells rising in distant ranges, a broad lake claiming the valley floor, and a foreground structured by sturdy drystone walls and low pasture.

In the tradition of 1930s railway posters, the complex landscape is reduced to bold, flat shapes. Deep purples, warm ochres, and muted blues create a striking sense of depth. Designed to read clearly from across a room, sweeping lines lead the eye to the water, anchored by bold typography.

Arriving framed and ready to hang, this print makes a strong statement in a hallway or sitting room. A natural wood frame beautifully echoes the earthy tones of the foreground, while black framing provides a crisp, graphic border. Part of a wider series, it can be collected and hung alongside specific Lakeland destinations.

Each size is the printed poster itself; the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount — the print runs to the frame, so the whole design is on show.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural oak.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.
