This poem is about the simple magic of Blea Tarn, perfectly catching its leaning pines and the way the still water mirrors the Pikes. Any lover of the fells will adore having this linocut print on their wall to remind them of stopping at such a wonderfully familiar place.

Blea Tarn

Between the Langdales, high and still,
Blea Tarn lies in its grassy dip,
And, on calm days, it drinks its fill
Of all the Pikes, from base to tip.

Along the shore the Scots pines lean
As if to watch themselves below,
And Side Pike rises, rough and green,
Its rocky top where west winds blow.

It's just a small tarn, nothing more,
A place to stop the car and look,
And yet you know it from before,
From every calendar and book.

The print. A4 (21 x 29.7cm) or A3 (29.7 x 42cm). Framed in a solid wood moulding in black, white or natural wood, with shatterproof acrylic glazing and hanging fixtures fitted, or unframed on 200gsm fine-art paper, sent flat and ready for a frame of your own. Printed to order.

Sizes

A4 — 21 × 29.7 cm

A3 — 29.7 × 42 cm

Each size is the printed sheet itself. Framed, the 20 mm moulding sits outside it and there is no mount, so the whole sheet is on show. Unframed, it is sent flat, ready for a frame of your own.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper — no gloss and no glare, so the words read cleanly from across a room.

Framed in a 20 mm wide solid wood moulding in black, white or natural wood, glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, with a backing board and hanging fixtures already fitted.

Unframed prints are the same paper and the same print, sent flat.
