Haystacks is a uniquely rugged fell. Its knobbled summit forms a high playground of rocky knolls and small pools, with Innominate Tarn resting in a hollow among them. From here, walkers look out to the long wall of Pillar and the High Stile ridge rising across the valley beyond.
