Featuring an original poem set into a linocut illustration, this print is about coming for the fells but falling for Keswick itself. It captures the town's woodsmoke-scented charm, from the Moot Hall to old Skiddaw, making it a perfect wall piece for any walker who misses those lamplit streets the moment they drive away.

Keswick

The Moot Hall stands above the square,
Its clock a keeper of the day;
There's rain and woodsmoke on the air
And walkers, boots still thick with clay.

Then down past Crow Park to the shore,
Where launches rock beside the pier,
And, turning back, I see once more
How close old Skiddaw stands, how near.

We came for fells, but stay for this:
The lamplit streets, the lake gone grey,
A town that you begin to miss
The moment that you drive away.

Sizes

A4 — 21 × 29.7 cm

A3 — 29.7 × 42 cm

Each size is the printed sheet itself. Framed, the 20 mm moulding sits outside it and there is no mount, so the whole sheet is on show. Unframed, it is sent flat, ready for a frame of your own.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper — no gloss and no glare, so the words read cleanly from across a room.

Framed in a 20 mm wide solid wood moulding in black, white or natural wood, glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, with a backing board and hanging fixtures already fitted.

Unframed prints are the same paper and the same print, sent flat.
