Grasmere Papercut with Lakeside Reeds

Grasmere is a small, round lake defined by the single wooded island at its centre. Walkers trace the reed beds along the near shore, looking out towards the enclosing shoulders of Helm Crag and Silver How. It is a deeply familiar valley, drawing fell-baggers and visitors to stand at the water's edge and take in the distinct topography.

This layered papercut design reduces the landscape to six distinct planes, presenting crisp silhouettes that recede into mist. Deep greens and slate blues build depth, with each overlapping edge casting a soft, convincing shadow. From across a room, the sharp foreground reeds anchor the central island and the bold typography beneath.

Arriving framed and ready to hang, this print draws the eye in a sitting room or holiday cottage stairwell. A natural wood frame beautifully complements the earthy tones of the cut-paper effect. Belonging to a wider series, it works perfectly alone above a desk or hung as a bold set of three Lakeland destinations.
