This poem is about the quiet beauty of Rydal Water, catching the wading birds, the spring gold of Dora's Field, and the joyful shouts of children in Rydal Cave. Set into a lovely linocut illustration, this print belongs on the wall of anyone who cherishes happy memories of walking beneath Nab Scar.

Rydal Water

One of the smallest lakes of all,
Tucked in beneath Nab Scar's grey face,
Where herons stand, and moorhens call,
And every ripple finds its place.

Above it, Rydal Mount looks down,
Where Wordsworth lived until he died,
And Dora's Field, in April's gown,
Blooms golden on the steep hillside.

And Rydal Cave, on Loughrigg's side,
Gapes wide, its floor a quiet pool,
Where children cross the stones with pride,
And shout, and find the air is cool.

The print. A4 (21 x 29.7cm) or A3 (29.7 x 42cm). Framed in a solid wood moulding in black, white or natural wood, with shatterproof acrylic glazing and hanging fixtures fitted, or unframed on 200gsm fine-art paper, sent flat and ready for a frame of your own. Printed to order.

Sizes

A4 — 21 × 29.7 cm

A3 — 29.7 × 42 cm

Each size is the printed sheet itself. Framed, the 20 mm moulding sits outside it and there is no mount, so the whole sheet is on show. Unframed, it is sent flat, ready for a frame of your own.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper — no gloss and no glare, so the words read cleanly from across a room.

Framed in a 20 mm wide solid wood moulding in black, white or natural wood, glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, with a backing board and hanging fixtures already fitted.

Unframed prints are the same paper and the same print, sent flat.
