Reaching the summit of Scafell Pike is the ultimate Lake District achievement. This broad, boulder-strewn dome of grey rock sits under a wide sky. To the right, a deep gulf falls away toward a sheer crag wall, while ridges of lower fells layer into the distance.

This impressionist poster captures the peak through broken colour and dissolving light. Working without harsh outlines, the plein-air oil style reduces tumbled boulders into vibrant dabs of violet, ochre, and slate. From across a room, these bold marks resolve into a rugged mountain landscape under a luminous sky.

A striking focal point for a stairwell or study, this print arrives framed and ready to hang. A natural wood frame beautifully draws out the earthy stone tones of the foreground. Designed as part of a wider series, it can be hung alone or collected to map your memorable walks.

Sizes

30 × 40 cm — 12 × 16 in

45 × 60 cm — 18 × 24 in

50 × 70 cm — 20 × 28 in

Each size is the printed poster itself; the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount — the print runs to the frame, so the whole design is on show.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural wood.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.

Every poster is printed and framed to order, at the production facility closest to your delivery address.

Framed pieces are made and dispatched within 5–10 working days. UK delivery normally takes up to five working days after dispatch; international orders can take up to 28 days.

The Impressionist series

Broken colour and dissolving light — plein-air oil, no outlines anywhere

Painted as plein-air oil: broken colour in short loaded strokes, edges dissolved by light, the water a field of dabbed complementaries. The softest thing we make.
