Windermere is the defining Lakeland water, a broad lake curving away between wooded shores. Visitors take to the water on a classic launch crossing to navigate between small islands and look out towards the serrated peaks on the far horizon.

The scene is captured in a vibrant Impressionist style, built from broken colour and dissolving light rather than harsh outlines. From across a room, a tapestry of lilac, gold and deep blue brushstrokes resolves into the shimmering lake and distant fells, echoing the rich tradition of plein-air oil painting in a bold poster format.

Arriving framed and ready to hang, this piece brings a warm, dappled glow to a hallway or stairwell. A white frame perfectly highlights the bright, sunlit palette of the print. Designed to sit flush within its moulding without a mount, it belongs to a wider series of travel posters, allowing you to collect and display your favourite Lakeland destinations.

Sizes

30 × 40 cm — 12 × 16 in

45 × 60 cm — 18 × 24 in

50 × 70 cm — 20 × 28 in

Each size is the printed poster itself; the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount — the print runs to the frame, so the whole design is on show.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural wood.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.

Every poster is printed and framed to order, at the production facility closest to your delivery address.

Framed pieces are made and dispatched within 5–10 working days. UK delivery normally takes up to five working days after dispatch; international orders can take up to 28 days.

The Impressionist series

Broken colour and dissolving light — plein-air oil, no outlines anywhere

Painted as plein-air oil: broken colour in short loaded strokes, edges dissolved by light, the water a field of dabbed complementaries. The softest thing we make.
