The broad saddleback summit of Blencathra rises above sweeping valley pastures in a view familiar to anyone who explores the northern fells. In the foreground meadow, an ancient circle of standing stones anchors the landscape, separated from the mountain by a dark line of trees.

Rendered in an Impressionist style, the design captures the scene through broken colour and dissolving light. Free from hard outlines, it carries the textured feel of a plein-air oil painting. The violet mountain shadows and sunlit meadow resolve into a bold, unified landscape when viewed from across a room.

A perfect focal point above a sitting room fireplace or a study desk, this framed poster arrives ready to hang. A natural wood frame highlights the earthy meadow tones, while a white frame lifts the soft lilac sky. As part of a wider travel poster series, it looks striking alone or collected as a set.

Sizes

30 × 40 cm — 12 × 16 in

45 × 60 cm — 18 × 24 in

50 × 70 cm — 20 × 28 in

Each size is the printed poster itself; the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount — the print runs to the frame, so the whole design is on show.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural wood.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.

Every poster is printed and framed to order, at the production facility closest to your delivery address.

Framed pieces are made and dispatched within 5–10 working days. UK delivery normally takes up to five working days after dispatch; international orders can take up to 28 days.

The Impressionist series

Broken colour and dissolving light — plein-air oil, no outlines anywhere

Painted as plein-air oil: broken colour in short loaded strokes, edges dissolved by light, the water a field of dabbed complementaries. The softest thing we make.
