Derwentwater is a wide calm lake scattered with small wooded islands. Across the water, the ridge of Catbells rises against the western fells, while the jaws of Borrowdale close in the distance. It is a classic Lakeland view, drawing walkers year after year to trace the shoreline or mark a summit above.

This layered papercut design reduces the valley to clean, overlapping silhouettes. Six planes build the scene from foreground pines to misty fells, with each cut edge casting a soft shadow. The cool palette of blues and greens is anchored by bold, simple typography designed to read perfectly from across a room.

Arriving fully framed and ready to hang, this print brings a graphic focal point to a hallway or stairwell. A natural wood frame warms the deep greens of the islands, while a white frame highlights the subtle mist of the distant mountains. Each size is the printed poster itself; the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount — the print runs to the frame, so the whole design is on show.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural oak.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.

Every poster is printed and framed to order, at the production facility closest to your delivery address.

Framed pieces are made and dispatched within 5–10 working days. UK delivery normally takes up to five working days after dispatch; international orders can take up to 28 days.
