Derwentwater is a wide, calm lake defined by its small wooded islands and the imposing backdrop of Catbells and the western fells across the water. Walkers stand on its shores to look straight down the valley, where the jaws of Borrowdale close in the distance.

This design reimagines the view through the tradition of Japanese woodblock printing. Across a room, the landscape resolves into bold shapes defined by a quiet key line. Layered colours build the depth of the fells, moving from soft gradient skies down to deep greens and purples that reflect in the still water.

Striking in a hallway or above a study desk, it arrives framed and ready to hang. A black frame grounds the dark valley silhouettes perfectly, while natural wood highlights the forested islands. Part of a wider travel poster series, it works beautifully alone or collected as a set of three.

Each size is the printed poster itself; the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount — the print runs to the frame, so the whole design is on show.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural oak.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.

Every poster is printed and framed to order, at the production facility closest to your delivery address.

Framed pieces are made and dispatched within 5–10 working days. UK delivery normally takes up to five working days after dispatch; international orders can take up to 28 days.
