High in a mountain bowl beneath the Langdale Pikes sits Stickle Tarn. Walkers ascend to stand by the water, taking in the sheer crag face of Pavey Ark rising from the dark tarn, with Harrison Stickle's peak to the left and moor grass in the foreground.

This Japanese woodblock style transforms the rugged scene using calm, layered colours. A soft gradient sky meets the muted greens of the crags, defined by a quiet key line. From across a room, the deep blue tarn anchors the composition above the bold typography of the place name.

Hung in a hallway or study, it offers a daily window into the high fells. Arriving framed and ready to hang, this print pairs well with a black frame to sharply define the mountain shadows. It belongs to a wider series, ideal for building a gallery of Lakeland routes.

Sizes

30 × 40 cm — 12 × 16 in

45 × 60 cm — 18 × 24 in

50 × 70 cm — 20 × 28 in

Each size is the printed poster itself; the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount — the print runs to the frame, so the whole design is on show.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural wood.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.

Delivery and returns

Every poster is printed and framed to order, at the production facility closest to your delivery address.

Framed pieces are made and dispatched within 5–10 working days. UK delivery normally takes up to five working days after dispatch; international orders can take up to 28 days.

Japanese Woodblock Lake District travel poster

The Japanese Woodblock series

Japanese woodblock: layered colour, soft gradient skies, a quiet key line

Drawn in the tradition of the Japanese shin-hanga travel print: flat colour areas, soft graded skies and delicate outlines. The Lake District's mist and layered ridges suit it as well as Hakone ever did.
