Derwentwater stretches out as a wide, calm lake broken by small wooded islands. Looking across the water reveals the distinctive ridge of Catbells and the western fells, while the dramatic jaws of Borrowdale close the distance. It is a classic Lakeland view, familiar to anyone who has walked these shores.

The design reimagines this landscape through the Japanese woodblock tradition. From across a room, the eye is drawn to the soft gradient sky fading from pale pink to deep blue. The fells are reduced to flat, layered colours separated by a quiet key line, framed by dark silhouetted pines in the foreground.

Arriving framed and ready to hang, it creates a striking focal point for a sitting room or hallway wall. A natural wood frame complements the earthy traditional aesthetic, while black sharpens the dark woodland details. Part of a wider Lake District collection, it works perfectly alone or grouped as a set.

Each size is the printed poster itself; the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount — the print runs to the frame, so the whole design is on show.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural oak.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.

Every poster is printed and framed to order, at the production facility closest to your delivery address.

Framed pieces are made and dispatched within 5–10 working days. UK delivery normally takes up to five working days after dispatch; international orders can take up to 28 days.
