Honister Pass is a dramatic ascent, a narrow road climbing steeply through a rocky defile. Flanked by towering crags, you pass the raw history of the landscape, with slate spoil and old quarry workings scarring the fellside above, while the valley falls sharply away behind.

This design reimagines the rugged terrain through the playful lens of mid-century illustration. The steep drop is reduced to bold, flat shapes in retro tones of rust, ochre and muted teal. A winding ribbon of road cuts sharply through the composition, while tiny, repeated marks mimic the texture of slate scree. From across a room, it reads as a striking geometric puzzle.

Arriving framed and ready to hang, this bold piece makes a superb statement on a stairwell or above a desk. A black wood frame perfectly defines the strong graphic lines. Each size is the printed poster itself; the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount — the print runs to the frame, so the whole design is on show.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural oak.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.

Framed pieces are made and dispatched within 5–10 working days. UK delivery normally takes up to five working days after dispatch; international orders can take up to 28 days.
