Honister Pass is a narrow road climbing steeply through a rocky defile. Visitors know the sheer scale of these crags and the slate spoil that scars the fellside, marking old quarry workings. From the ascent, the valley falls away dramatically behind, creating an unforgettable Lakeland landscape.

The design captures this ascent in the bold, saturated palette of mid-century railway posters. From across a room, the eye follows the sweeping curve of the tarmac against vivid green and ochre slopes. Block colours define the stark slate buildings, while bright heather and graphic white clouds anchor the print in a classic vintage tradition.

A striking focal point for a stairwell or hallway, this print brings high-fell altitude indoors. Arriving framed and ready to hang, it looks particularly strong in a black frame, which sharpens the dark crags and crisp typography. As part of a wider series, it can easily be collected to build a complete Lakeland gallery.

Each size is the printed poster itself; the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount — the print runs to the frame, so the whole design is on show.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural oak.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.

Every poster is printed and framed to order, at the production facility closest to your delivery address.

Framed pieces are made and dispatched within 5–10 working days. UK delivery normally takes up to five working days after dispatch; international orders can take up to 28 days.
