The dark water of Stickle Tarn sits in a high mountain bowl below the sheer crag face of Pavey Ark. To the left, the jagged peak of Harrison Stickle cuts into the sky, framed by rough moor grass in the foreground. It is a hard-earned view for any fell-walker.

This railway-style print reduces the vast landscape to bold geometry. Flat inks define the heavy purples and slate greys of the rock, contrasting with the deep navy of the tarn. From across a room, the jagged interplay of light and shadow is striking, anchored by clean, vintage typography.

Bring the drama of the high fells to a hallway or stairwell. Arriving framed and ready to hang, the design suits a black frame to ground the dark waters, or natural wood to pick out the ochre hillside. It belongs to a wider series, perfect for collecting as a set.

Sizes

30 × 40 cm — 12 × 16 in

45 × 60 cm — 18 × 24 in

50 × 70 cm — 20 × 28 in

Each size is the printed poster itself; the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount — the print runs to the frame, so the whole design is on show.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural oak.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.

Every poster is printed and framed to order, at the production facility closest to your delivery address.

The Railway Screen Print series

The 1930s railway poster: flat inks, bold shapes, one perfect line of type

The style that sold the British countryside to the railway age. Flat screen-printed colour, hard-edged clouds and a place name set large across the foot of the sheet. Every poster in this collection treats a Lakeland place the way the LNER and Shell artists treated a coastline.
