Tarn Hows is a jewel of the landscape, a small, island-studded tarn ringed by dark conifers and larch. Walkers are drawn to the path curving gently along its shore, offering changing perspectives of the water and the fells rising boldly beyond. It is a place of enduring popularity, known by heart by those who wander its wooded banks.

This design reimagines the familiar landscape through precise ink hatching and impossible geometry. Rendered in a striking monochrome palette, the scenery is reduced to deep textures and structural stone arches that loop without beginning or end. From across a room, the eye is immediately drawn to the mesmerising tessellation at the centre, where fish surface from the dark water and seamlessly transform into birds taking flight towards the angular peaks.

Arriving framed and ready to hang, this intricate piece brings a sophisticated, graphic edge to a study or a well-lit hallway. A black solid wood frame is the perfect choice for this design, echoing the deep lines and enhancing the stark contrasts of the ink work. It belongs to a wider series of travel posters, allowing you to collect a set of beloved Lakeland destinations.

Sizes

30 × 40 cm — 12 × 16 in

45 × 60 cm — 18 × 24 in

50 × 70 cm — 20 × 28 in

Each size is the printed poster itself; the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount — the print runs to the frame, so the whole design is on show.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural oak.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.

Every poster is printed and framed to order, at the production facility closest to your delivery address.

Framed pieces are made and dispatched within 5–10 working days. UK delivery normally takes up to five working days after dispatch; international orders can take up to 28 days.
