Tarn Hows is a beloved beauty spot, a small island-studded tarn ringed by dark conifers and larch. Walkers follow the path curving along its shore, taking in the calm water and the high, blue fells rising beyond. It is a landscape known by heart.

Our Muted Modern style reduces this view to a chalky modern minimalism, built from broad, sweeping shapes. Printed in a soft palette of sand, oat, and sage, the dark pines stand in sharp contrast to the gentle curves of the shoreline and distant ridges. From across a room, the bold typography at the foot of the design anchors the scene.

Arriving framed and ready to hang, it brings natural calm to a bedroom, sitting room, or hallway. A natural wood frame complements the oat and sand tones perfectly, while a black frame sharpens the dark conifers. Each size is the printed poster itself; the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount — the print runs to the frame, so the whole design is on show.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural oak.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.

Framed pieces are made and dispatched within 5–10 working days. UK delivery normally takes up to five working days after dispatch; international orders can take up to 28 days.
