Windermere is a broad sweep of water curving away between wooded shores, drawing visitors to its open expanses. Small islands sit mid-water as a launch makes its crossing, leading the eye towards the serrated peaks of the far horizon.

This Muted Modern travel poster reduces the vast panorama to calm, minimalist shapes. Soft, chalky tones of sand, oat, and sage green build receding layers of water, woodland, and distant fells. Designed to read instantly from across a room, the clean typography offers a contemporary update to the classic railway art tradition.

Arriving framed and ready to hang in a sitting room or cottage bedroom, this piece brings quiet neutrality to a wall. A natural wood frame beautifully warms the earthy tones, while white sharpens its minimalist edge. Hang it singly, or collect others in the series to unify a hallway gallery.

Sizes

30 × 40 cm — 12 × 16 in

45 × 60 cm — 18 × 24 in

50 × 70 cm — 20 × 28 in

Each size is the printed poster itself; the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount — the print runs to the frame, so the whole design is on show.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural wood.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.

Delivery and returns

Every poster is printed and framed to order, at the production facility closest to your delivery address.

Framed pieces are made and dispatched within 5–10 working days. UK delivery normally takes up to five working days after dispatch; international orders can take up to 28 days.

The Muted Modern series

Chalky modern minimalism in sand, oat and sage — made to live with

Quiet, chalky and low-contrast, in the sand, oat, clay and sage a modern interior is already painted in. The place is still exactly itself — just held softly enough to live above a sofa for twenty years.
