An iconic stop on the climb into the fells, Ashness Bridge is a traditional stone packhorse arch crossing a rocky beck. Walkers pause here for the famous perspective, looking down the steep fellside to the water below and the great mountain massif rising beyond.

This design channels the 1930s railway poster tradition, reducing the sweeping landscape to bold interlocking shapes and flat inks. Deep purples and blues define the distant peaks and lake, while warm ochres pick out the sunlit stonework of the bridge. From across a room, the striking contrast draws the eye, grounded by one perfect line of classic typography.

Arriving framed and ready to hang, this strong piece commands attention at the turn of a stairwell or above a desk. A natural wood frame beautifully echoes the warm tones of the foreground stone, while black sharply defines the vintage aesthetic. Each size is the printed poster itself; the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount — the print runs to the frame, so the whole design is on show.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural oak.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.
