Ashness Bridge is a traditional stone packhorse arch spanning a steep, rocky beck. From this foreground, walkers look past tumbling water to the vast lake far below, framed by a striking mountain massif on the distant horizon.

The classic viewpoint is reimagined here through the strict reduction of mid-century Swiss Modernism. Complex topography becomes flat, geometric plains in cool greys, crisp cream and a solid wedge of black. A single, vivid red rule cuts sharply through the boulders, delivering massive visual impact from across any room.

Ready to hang on arrival, this bold poster commands a bright stairwell or a modern sitting room. A solid black wood frame is the perfect choice here, cleanly anchoring the dark peak at the top of the design. Belonging to a wider series, it is ideal for building a graphic collection of your favourite Lakeland valleys.

Sizes

30 × 40 cm — 12 × 16 in

45 × 60 cm — 18 × 24 in

50 × 70 cm — 20 × 28 in

Each size is the printed poster itself; the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount — the print runs to the frame, so the whole design is on show.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural wood.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.

Delivery and returns

Every poster is printed and framed to order, at the production facility closest to your delivery address.

Framed pieces are made and dispatched within 5–10 working days. UK delivery normally takes up to five working days after dispatch; international orders can take up to 28 days.

Full detail is in our shipping policy and refund policy.

The Swiss Modernist series

Mid-century Swiss reduction — a fell in five shapes and a single red rule

The severest treatment we make. A fell reduced to five flat shapes, acres of quiet ground and a single accent, in the manner of the Swiss tourism posters of the 1960s. It suits a modern room and a plain wall.
