Derwentwater is a wide, calm expanse broken by small wooded islands. Walkers stand on its shores to look towards the western fells across the water, tracing steep slopes that rise before the jaws of a distant valley close the horizon.

The design reinterprets the landscape through a Cubist lens. The fells are fractured into faceted planes, allowing the scene to be viewed from several angles at once. Earthy browns, olive greens, and steel blues interlock, reducing the trees to bold geometric forms. From across a room, these intersecting lines resolve into striking reflections on the water, anchored by classic railway-style typography.

A bold statement for a hallway or stairwell, this print arrives framed and ready to hang. A black frame sharply defines the crisp geometric lines, while a natural wood moulding draws out the warm, earthy tones. Belonging to a wider modernist series, it is ideal for collecting as a set of three.

Sizes

30 × 40 cm — 12 × 16 in

45 × 60 cm — 18 × 24 in

50 × 70 cm — 20 × 28 in

Each size is the printed poster itself; the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount — the print runs to the frame, so the whole design is on show.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural oak.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.

The fells fractured into faceted planes, seen from several angles at once

The fells and their reflection fractured into overlapping planes, seen from several angles at once. Ochre, umber, slate and chalk — the landscape analysed rather than described.
