Derwentwater is a wide, calm lake studded with small wooded islands, looking out toward the western fells and the distant jaws of the valley. It is a beloved shoreline for walkers who have paused by the water's edge or taken a boat to drift among the trees.

The landscape is reimagined here through impossible geometry. Fine ink hatching renders the distant crags as endless, twisting staircases, while the foreground ripples transform into a surreal tessellation where fish merge seamlessly into birds in flight. From across a room, the striking monochromatic contrast and optical illusions immediately command attention.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural oak.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.

Framed pieces are made and dispatched within 5–10 working days. UK delivery normally takes up to five working days after dispatch; international orders can take up to 28 days.
