Seen from the terrace path above, Rydal Water is a shallow lake beloved by walkers. Bare oak and birch frame the view from the left, drawing the eye across the calm water to the steep fell dropping to the far shore and the towering crags above.

Drawing on the vintage railway poster tradition, the landscape is reduced to bold shapes and bright, flat colour. Saturated fellsides of rich ochre, green, and burnt orange rise beneath a brilliant blue sky and stacked clouds, creating a vivid graphic that reads beautifully from across a room.

Ready to hang, this framed poster brings a rush of Lakeland colour to a hallway or holiday cottage stairwell. A natural wood frame perfectly complements the autumnal tones of the fells and the bare foreground trees. Part of a wider series, it can be collected and hung as a set of three.

Sizes

30 × 40 cm — 12 × 16 in

45 × 60 cm — 18 × 24 in

50 × 70 cm — 20 × 28 in

Each size is the printed poster itself; the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount — the print runs to the frame, so the whole design is on show.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural wood.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.

Delivery and returns

Every poster is printed and framed to order, at the production facility closest to your delivery address.

Framed pieces are made and dispatched within 5–10 working days. UK delivery normally takes up to five working days after dispatch; international orders can take up to 28 days.

The Vivid Travel Poster series

Bright flat colour — blue skies, bold cloud and saturated fellsides

The brightest thing we make: crisp flat colour, a vivid blue sky full of cloud, water in deep blue and hillsides in strong greens and golds. It reads clear across a room and cheers up a wall on a grey day, which in the Lakes is most of them.
