Seen from the terrace path above, Rydal Water is a shallow, sheltered lake. This classic route offers sweeping views, framed on the left by bare oak and birch. Across the water, Loughrigg Fell drops to the far shore, with Nab Scar rising steeply above.

The design treats the landscape in the bold tradition of vintage railway posters, reducing the complex fells to flat, graphic shapes. Rendered in a hard frost palette of deep slate, crisp snow and ice blue, the winter scene is warmed only by one cold pink sun. From across a room, the dark tree silhouettes contrast sharply against the pale, frozen sweep of the lake.

Arriving framed and ready to hang, this piece brings a clean focal point to a hallway or study. A black wood frame perfectly grounds the dark tones of the bare trees, while a white frame enhances the frost and snow. It belongs to a wider series, allowing you to hang a single memory or collect a striking set of three.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural oak.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.

Framed pieces are made and dispatched within 5–10 working days. UK delivery normally takes up to five working days after dispatch; international orders can take up to 28 days.
