Looking down the straight expanse of Coniston Water from a wooded eastern shore, a small jetty and a moored boat wait in the shallows. Across the water, the unmistakable whaleback ridge of the Old Man of Coniston dominates the far side.

The Japanese woodblock tradition reimagines this view through layered colour and a quiet key line. A soft gradient warms the sky, contrasting with the dark silhouettes of the foreground pines. The fell is reduced to overlapping bands of muted green and earth tones, creating a bold composition that reads perfectly from across a room.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural oak.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.
