Derwentwater is a wide, calm expanse of water scattered with small wooded islands. From the shoreline, walkers look across to the sweeping geometry of the western fells, watching the landscape converge where the jaws of the distant valley close around the lake head.

This design applies the stark rules of mid-century Swiss reduction. The landscape is built from flat, precise shapes of intersecting grey, cutting sharply against a vast cream sky. From across a room, a single flash of colour—a bright red boat among the islands—anchors the cool, minimalist composition above the crisp typography.

A sharp, striking addition to a hallway or study wall, this print arrives framed and ready to hang. A black solid wood frame is highly recommended, perfectly weighting the bold text at the foot. Part of a wider modernist series, it is ideal for building a coordinated Lakeland collection.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural oak.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.
