Honister Pass is a spectacular, unforgiving route. A narrow road climbs steeply through a rocky defile, winding between sheer crags and the sharp angles of slate spoil. Old quarry workings scar the fellside above, while the valley floor falls away dramatically behind.

Rendered in the classic 1930s railway poster tradition, the landscape is reduced to striking, flat planes of colour. Deep slate blues and brooding purples define the crags, cut by the sharp ochre ribbon of the mountain road. Strong diagonals and bold, stylized clouds create a graphic image that reads instantly from across a room.

A striking piece for a hallway or study, this print brings bold Lakeland geometry indoors. It arrives framed and ready to hang, looking particularly sharp in a black wood frame which anchors the dark slate tones. Part of a wider series, it works beautifully alone or collected as a set of favourite locations.

Each size is the printed poster itself; the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount — the print runs to the frame, so the whole design is on show.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural oak.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.

Framed pieces are made and dispatched within 5–10 working days. UK delivery normally takes up to five working days after dispatch; international orders can take up to 28 days.
