Rydal Water is a shallow lake best admired from the terrace path above. Walkers pause here to take in the sweep of water, framed by bare oak and birch, with steep fells dropping dramatically to the far shore.

This poster captures the view in a pure Impressionist style, abandoning hard outlines for broken colour and dissolving light. From across a room, the lake surface becomes a shimmering mosaic of lavender and gold, the rocky path rendered in vibrant, painterly marks that reduce the landscape to pure atmosphere beneath a classic typographic banner.

Perfect for bringing light to a hallway or stairwell, this print arrives framed and ready to hang. A Natural wood frame gently complements the earthy purples of the path, while White emphasises the luminous water. It belongs to a wider collection, ideal for building a gallery wall of favourite Lakeland places.

Sizes

30 × 40 cm — 12 × 16 in

45 × 60 cm — 18 × 24 in

50 × 70 cm — 20 × 28 in

Each size is the printed poster itself; the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount — the print runs to the frame, so the whole design is on show.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural wood.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.

The Impressionist series

Broken colour and dissolving light — plein-air oil, no outlines anywhere

Painted as plein-air oil: broken colour in short loaded strokes, edges dissolved by light, the water a field of dabbed complementaries. The softest thing we make.
