Rydal Water is a shallow lake famously viewed from the terrace path above. Here, bare oak and birch frame the scene from the left, leading the eye across the water to Loughrigg Fell dropping to the far shore, with Nab Scar rising steep above.

This design captures the valley using chalky modern minimalism, reducing the landscape to soft, overlapping planes. From across a room, the sweeping diagonal of the drystone wall and stark tree silhouettes stand out against a calm palette of sand, oat, and sage.

Arriving framed and ready to hang, this artwork brings a sense of stillness to a quiet bedroom or a bright hallway. A natural wood frame beautifully warms the oat and sand tones of the hillsides. Part of a wider travel poster series, it looks striking hung individually or grouped as a set of three.

Sizes

30 × 40 cm — 12 × 16 in

45 × 60 cm — 18 × 24 in

50 × 70 cm — 20 × 28 in

Each size is the printed poster itself; the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount — the print runs to the frame, so the whole design is on show.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural wood.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.

Every poster is printed and framed to order, at the production facility closest to your delivery address.

Framed pieces are made and dispatched within 5–10 working days. UK delivery normally takes up to five working days after dispatch; international orders can take up to 28 days.

The Muted Modern series

Chalky modern minimalism in sand, oat and sage — made to live with

Quiet, chalky and low-contrast, in the sand, oat, clay and sage a modern interior is already painted in. The place is still exactly itself — just held softly enough to live above a sofa for twenty years.
