Rydal Water is a shallow lake best admired from the terrace path above. It is a classic vantage point, where bare oak and birch frame the view from the left, guiding the eye across the water to the steep, rugged fells that enclose the far shore.

This 1930s-style railway poster reduces the landscape to bold shapes and flat layers of ink. Deep purples and muted blues define the fellsides, contrasting with the pale water and warm ochre clouds. From across a room, dark silhouetted trees anchor the composition above the vintage block typography.

Arriving framed and ready to hang, this piece brings Lakeland character to a stairwell or study wall. A black frame smartly defines the dark foreground trees, while natural wood complements the earthy fells. Part of a wider collection, it looks excellent hung alone or grouped as a set of three.

Each size is the printed poster itself; the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount — the print runs to the frame, so the whole design is on show.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural oak.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.
