A celebrated walking circuit, Tarn Hows is a small, island-studded tarn ringed by dark conifers and larch. A gentle path curves along its shore, drawing walkers through the woodland to admire the towering blue fells rising beyond the water.

This design reimagines the landscape through a playful mid-century lens. The water and islands are reduced to crisp, flat shapes in teal and olive, punctuated by the strict geometry of towering pines. Tiny, repeated marks create delicate texture across the foliage and distant peaks, delivering a cheerful graphic simplicity that commands attention from across a room.

Arriving framed and ready to hang, this print brings bold charm to a stairwell or study wall. A natural wood frame perfectly complements the earthy greens and golden yellows, while a black frame sharpens its striking geometric silhouettes. Designed as part of a wider series, it hangs beautifully alone or gathered as a matching set.

Sizes

30 × 40 cm — 12 × 16 in

45 × 60 cm — 18 × 24 in

50 × 70 cm — 20 × 28 in

Each size is the printed poster itself; the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount — the print runs to the frame, so the whole design is on show.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural oak.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.

The Mid-Century Wildlife series

Charley Harper simplicity: flat shapes, playful stylisation, tiny repeated marks

In the manner of Charley Harper: extreme simplification into flat geometric shapes, texture suggested by tiny repeated marks, and a great deal of confident empty ground. Teal, mustard, brick and sage.
