Windermere forms a broad lake curving away between wooded shores. This iconic view captures small islands sitting mid-water, a traditional launch making its crossing, and serrated fells on the far horizon. It is a landscape known by heart to countless walkers and visitors.

The poster reimagines the scenery through playful mid-century illustration. Sharp, flat shapes build the striking backdrop and curving bays, while slopes are textured with tiny, repeated marks suggesting dense woodland. A palette of deep teal, warm ochre, and slate grey ensures the bold design reads instantly from across a room.

Arriving framed and ready to hang, this piece makes a superb statement in a hallway or holiday cottage sitting room. A natural wood frame perfectly draws out the design's earthy mustard tones. Created as part of a wider collection, it looks striking standing alone or gathered as a set.

Sizes

30 × 40 cm — 12 × 16 in

45 × 60 cm — 18 × 24 in

50 × 70 cm — 20 × 28 in

Each size is the printed poster itself; the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount — the print runs to the frame, so the whole design is on show.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural wood.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.

Every poster is printed and framed to order, at the production facility closest to your delivery address.

The Mid-Century Wildlife series

Charley Harper simplicity: flat shapes, playful stylisation, tiny repeated marks

In the manner of Charley Harper: extreme simplification into flat geometric shapes, texture suggested by tiny repeated marks, and a great deal of confident empty ground. Teal, mustard, brick and sage.
