Tarn Hows is a beloved beauty spot where a curving path winds around a small, island-studded tarn. Walkers follow this accessible shoreline circuit to admire the striking contrast between the dark rings of conifers and larch at the water's edge and the high fells rising blue beyond.

This design captures the landscape in a vibrant Impressionist style, built from broken colour and dissolving light. Thick, plein-air oil brushstrokes render the shimmering tarn and textured pines without a single hard outline. From across a room, it reads as a luminous haze of lavender, blue and green, grounded by bold typography.

A striking addition above a bed or stairwell, it arrives framed and ready to hang. A white wood frame perfectly highlights the soft pastel palette, while a natural frame suits its rustic charm. Part of a wider Lake District series, it can be grouped to build a gallery of favourite views.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural oak.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.

Framed pieces are made and dispatched within 5–10 working days. UK delivery normally takes up to five working days after dispatch; international orders can take up to 28 days.
