Tarn Hows is a beloved beauty spot, a small island-studded tarn ringed by dark conifers and larch. Walkers know this landscape by heart, drawn to the path curving along its shore to take in views of the dark fells rising sharply beyond.

This design applies Swiss Modernist reduction to the familiar view. From across a room, the eye catches a stark geometric translation: the water becomes a bold polygon of pure red, bordered by sharp grey pathways and the saw-tooth silhouette of the treeline. The high fells are stripped to a single heavy black crest, celebrating mid-century graphic design.

This striking print commands attention in a bright hallway or above a modern desk. It arrives framed and ready to hang, pairing perfectly with a black wood frame to anchor the heavy mountain silhouette. As part of a wider Lakeland series, it can be collected to create a bold gallery wall.

Each size is the printed poster itself; the 20 mm moulding sits outside it. There is no mount — the print runs to the frame, so the whole design is on show.

Paper, frame and glazing

Printed on 200 gsm enhanced matte fine-art paper, chosen for flat colour: no gloss, no reflections, and ink that sits in the sheet rather than on it.

Framed in a 20 mm wide, 24 mm deep solid wood moulding — black, white or natural oak.

Glazed with shatterproof acrylic rather than glass, so a large poster arrives intact.

MDF backing board with hanging fixtures already fitted.
